arcHive

A personal knowledge base for you and your family

ArcHive captures everything like Evernote, organises it like Notion and looks like Craft. Your notes live on your device and on our own server in Russia, work offline and are open to AI agents via MCP and a plain API.

Sign-up is open: all you need is a name, an email and a password. In the browser, on Mac and on Android. Everything is free while in beta.

Features

One place for notes, documents, lists and family matters — no ads, no subscriptions, no third-party servers.

Capture in a second

A thought, a link, an email or a photo goes to the Inbox, and you can sort it out later.

Offline first

The whole base lives on your device. Write on a plane or at the country house with no signal — edits merge once you are back online.

Structure if you want it

Folders and tags, or databases with properties — your choice. Everything is a page, and any page can be nested in another.

Search that understands Russian

Finds words by their stem and despite typos, searches inside files and even text in images.

Your own space, shared by invitation

Everyone in the family has their own account and space. A page, notebook or database can be shared with others at the access level you choose.

Move in without losses

From Notion through the official API, from Evernote from an export with attachments. At the end you get a report on what was moved.

Nothing gets lost

Version history and the trash are kept for 30 days. A backup is made every night, and restoring it is tested.

The same everywhere

The browser, the Mac app and the Android app show the same pages — and update each other as you watch.

Looks like a good book

  • A cover with an icon overlapping it, properties as chips, quotes with a hanging quotation mark.
  • Cards for nested pages.
  • A 680-pixel text column, like in Craft.
  • Russian typography is set automatically: «guillemets», dashes, non-breaking spaces.
  • Fonts ship with the app, with no external services.

Open to AI agents

ArcHive is also a memory for your assistants. Claude and other agents connect via MCP, scripts via a plain API. An agent’s edit appears on the page right away, without reloading. Its writes go through the same sync server as yours.

MCP server

Address https://me.archivenote.app/mcp, Streamable HTTP protocol. Connectors sign in with OAuth 2.1 and PKCE, scripts with a key in the Authorization: Bearer header.

searchfind pages by keywords

create_pagea new page or database row
append_blocksappend to the end of a page
update_pagetitle, tags, icon, properties

Plain API

The same endpoints the app uses, plus machine-friendly ones. Keys are issued in the settings — read-only or read and write.

Russia

Server and file storage at Timeweb Cloud, Moscow. Works without workarounds.

30 days

Version history, trash and nightly backups. Restoring the backups is tested.

Authenticator code

Optionally turn on a code from an authenticator app: then no one gets into your notes even with your password. Sign-in with Google and Yandex is available too.

You decide

Text recognition and AI covers are turned on by you and receive only what they work with.

Download

ArcHive works in the browser as is: open me.archivenote.app and add it to your Home Screen. There are apps for Mac and Android, and a tester sign-up for iPhone.

Mac

Its own window, menus and keyboard shortcuts. Inside is the same ArcHive, so everything new shows up on its own.

Download for Mac
  1. Open the .dmg file and drag ArcHive into Applications.
  2. If your Mac says it “cannot verify the developer”: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway at the bottom.
  3. If it says the app “is damaged”: open Terminal and paste xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/ArcHive.app

Android

A widget, Share from any app and offline mode. The installation file comes from our server.

Download for Android
  1. Open the downloaded file. If the phone asks to allow installs from this source, allow it for Chrome or Files.
  2. In the Play Protect window, do not tap the blue OK — it cancels the installation. Tap More details → Install anyway.

Sign up as a tester

Your address reaches us in a single email. When a build appears in TestFlight, Apple will send you an invitation.

Questions

How do I get into ArcHive?

Sign-up is open: click “Start for free” and enter your name, email and password. ArcHive will offer to turn on a code from an authenticator app — this is optional and can be done later in the settings. Right after sign-up you will get an email with tips on where to download the apps and how to begin. Everything is free while in beta.

How is ArcHive different from Notion and Evernote?

ArcHive runs on its own server in Russia and works offline — the whole base lives on your device. Each family member has their own space, and shared spaces open by invitation. No ads, no subscriptions and no upload limits. You can move over from Notion and Evernote in one evening.

Where is my data stored?

On a server at Timeweb Cloud (Moscow) and in file storage there. Backups are made every night and kept for 30 days. Your device holds a full copy of the base — which is why ArcHive opens even without the internet.

Is there an iPhone app?

Not yet. On iPhone and iPad ArcHive opens in Safari and works like an app: you can add it to your Home Screen. There are apps for Mac and Android, and you can sign up to test the iPhone version.

How do I connect Claude or another AI agent?

Issue a key with the access you need in the ArcHive settings and add the MCP server address https://me.archivenote.app/mcp to your agent. Claude connectors sign in with OAuth — ArcHive will ask for your permission. The agent gets tools for searching, reading and creating pages, and for writing to databases and the Inbox.

Can I share a page with someone who has no account?

Yes. Any regular page has a guest link — read-only or read and edit. A guest sees the page without its nested pages and cannot upload files. You can revoke the link at any time.

How much does it cost?

Everything is free while in beta. ArcHive is made for one’s own family and close circle — no subscriptions and no ads.
